Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

My question is this...

I filed a complaint with the local electrical and building inspecter concerning faulty wireing in a home that my family was living in, this was rental property.

No one ever investigated the complaints, no inspecter came, nothing.

The house caught fire, it was determined it was due to an electrical problem.

We lost everything in the house, I have also mentioned the electrical concerns and she (the landlady) did nothing to fix them.

I want to know if I have basis for legal action, my children are 17,15 and 4 years old.

What recourse do I have?

You have an excellent basis for a lawsuit based on the landlord's negligence. I am sorry for loss.

I am sorry for your loss. Retain an attorney to file suit against the landlady. Good Luck!
