Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

Is this real

I was looking for housing on Craigslist Boston, and I found a rental for $700 a month. I sent the owner a email reguarding the add and he wrote me back. The problem is that he is saying that he is all the way in africa and he wont be back for five years. Although if I pay first and a half deposit he'll send the key. I just wanted to know legally if I should trust this add.

You're kidding, right? You would trust this? Give your money to a registered charity instead -- you'll at least get a tax deduction.

This is an obvious "phishing scam." If you ado this, you will be saying good-bye to your deposit, anything else in your bank account, and youyr credit rating.

Re: Is this real

I sincerely doubt this is real. I would never do business with someone who wnats you to send money over-seas and has no local representative.

I agree with both of the other attorneys DO NOT DO THIS. IT IS NOT REAL.
