Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts
i recently found out my apt is illegal.i went to the building dept. it is a legal two family but made it a three family by taking his basement and making two apts out of it.my apt being the third.can i retrieve all my money i paid to him so far? i moved in october.

You might be able to recover it. I suggest you write a demand letter and then file suit in small claims court ($7,000 limit) or housing court.
