If you signed the lease, you are responsible to the landlord if she does not pay the rent. Whether she will pay the rent without contribution is another matter. I would suggest you ask the landlord to remove you from the lease since your ex girlfriend asked you to leave and ask her to assist in your removal from the lease.

If you did not sign a lease with the landlord then you do not have an obligation to pay rent to the landlord.

if you signed an agreement with your former girl friend depending on the reason for your break up, you may not have an obligation to pay rent.

I have assumed there is no restraining order against you by your former girl friend. If there is that would change things.
