Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

I woke up this morning to my 3yr. old son telling me some ones in my house. when i opened my eyes i saw my landlord, who lives downstairs, running from my bathroom out my back door. Previously there has been things missing. Rent has been paid for the month already in advance, I am sighned into a year lease, but i no longer feel comfoterble in my appartment. please help. what are legal steps i could take to bring me justice?

You can speak to your local police department and see if you can bring at least a trespassing charge against your landlord if not a breaking and entering charge. If your landlord did in fact enter your apartment without your consent and felt he/she had to leave running out the back door, then I would suggest you speak with the police department. If you do not feel comfortable living there anymore, depending what your lease agreement says, you may be able to terminate the lease and move out.
