Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Massachusetts

I want to know if it is worth it to sue my ex - landlord for damaged property, because she put a claim against me in housing court for failure to pay rent, but the only reason I stopped paying rent is because she didn't take care the serious infect problem I had in the apartment that was there before I even moved in. Now that I have moved out she wants to put a claim against me. I lost a lot of furniture, clothes for both me and my one year old daughter. Is it worth counerclaiming?

You should consider retaining an attorney to determine whether the landlord may have violated the consumer protection law which would make a counterclaim worthwhile. Good Luck!
