Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Massachusetts

Tape recording of the Minutes of a Meeting

I have been the Secretary on the Board of Trustees at my condo complex. I attempted to tape record the minutes of the meeting so that I could be an active participant in the conversation. I would later type out the minutes from the recording. Is this legal without disclosing this to all Trustees present?

No. In Massachusetts, secret recordings are illegal; all parties must be on notice of the recording. The Board can vote to either record or not record their meetings.
