Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Massachusetts
I work at home depot and was a cashier. I opted to move to a different position, but soon found out that I am pregnant. I asked to go back to being a cashier and they have denied my request because my mother works as a cashier. However, I have been working in the same department as my mother for the past four years. Another thing that bothers me is that there is another head cashier that has her father-in-law under the same supervisor. So how can they do this to me and not them???

It seems you may be thinking that you may be the victim of discrimination based on your pregnancy. Pregnancy discrimination is a category within gender/sex discrimination in Massachusetts.
If this is a question you are examining, you may want to consider factors such as whether any other pregnant women are or have been employed there in the past and whether they were treated the same as or differently than you or than other employees.
