Legal Question in Legal Malpractice in Massachusetts
Horrible law firm
I hired a lawyer who did a really poor job representing us. He waited to the last miniute to file a civil claim (down to the Hour) after accepting the case 2 month prior. He filed an ex-parte one week after the defendant filed chapter 7. Plus all the documentation filed in the court has the wrong amount in damages. He demanded full payment of additional $1,200. over and above the retainer in 30 day's or he would put us into collection. He never informed us he went over the retainer. My wife and I disputed the bill and he wrote back that ''He would not deal with my wife'' and If I want to handle this in a manly fashion to pay the bill in 30 day's'' So we have paid it but feel what he did was harrasment, and sexual discrimination. He really took us for a ride. Is this acceptable behavior from a lawyer?
Sincerely,
