Allow me to add to the previous answer.

I am very sorry for your terrible loss. This must be a very difficult time for you and your family. I hope that the police will provide answers to your difficult questions, and that those answers will bring you some comfort and relief in the midst of your tragedy.

A suicide would involve a police investigation. The police dept.may be willing to give you a copy of the suicide note and perhaps the full investigation report. If not, an estate would have to be opened and an administrator appointed, who would have subpoena power.

I assume your question about the meds is whether your wife's sister could have been driven to commit suicide from taking the meds. The cause of death will be contained in the autopsy report. If your wife's sister was on psychtropic drugs, there are many such drugs which have been implicated in suicides, such a prozac.

There may be a basis for a case against the pharmaceutical company who manufactured the drug and/or the the prescribing physician.

I have handled several suicide cases and would be pleased to speak with you.
