Legal Question in Military Law in Massachusetts
Unoticed government funds
Durring a short time, I was enrolled in the army program ''college first'' where I was paid each month while in school until I graduated, when I would leave active duty. I had myself removed from the program, and the checks stopped coming but the army never reclaimed their money like I was told they would. It has been more than a year now since the last check cleared. Is the money mine now or can the government still reclaim it? Was it ever going to be reclaimed to begin with?

Re: Unoticed government funds
Don't hold your breath... but yes, they can reclaim it... but you MIGHT be lucky and they'll forget it. Without spending time doing the legal research, I believe if my memory is right, that they have 3 years to seek recoupment. Put the money in a separate savings account - get the interest and if after 3 years from the date you disenrolled you've heard nothing, go for it.
Good luck!
