Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
Auto Insurance
Is is better to put my teenage driver on his own policy? Am I still responsible if something happens because he's under 18yrs? Is it better to take out an umbrella policy? I don't want to lose my house

Re: Auto Insurance
I have no opinion about your insurance question, but if your primary goal is to avoid losing your house in a lawsuit, you should make sure you have filed for the protection available under the "Homestead Exemption" in the Registry of Deeds in the county in which the property is located. Last I checked, the homstead exemption filing cost 10 bucks and makes the first $300,000 of equity in your home exempt from attachment to satisfy lawsuit liability.
