Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

automobile accident question

I recently had an auto accident and i was in a car of friend's accquaintance, i was unable to retain information of the driver and all. Therefore, i am unable to pay my medical bills. Please advice me on what to do about that, shouldi get a loan or a lawyer? i only have the information of the car owner, but not the driver. please get back to me A.S.A.P.

You are probably NOT out of luck. I am not sure about which driver you could not get the one you were a passenger in or some other car. Either way, you should be okay.

Massachusetts has a good no fault insurance law. That provides that the car you were in is obligated to pay your medical bills. Put the owner of the car on notice immediately and put his insurance company on notice.

If you or a family member you live with had an insured vehicle, you should notify them also.

All of this only covers your medical bills. If those bills exceed $2,000 you also have what is known as "tort" or personal case you can bring against whoever caused the accident. It is usually better to have a lawyer take care of that.
