Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
Car Accident
I was involved in a car accident back in May involving a commercial tractor trailer. I was wondering how long a person has to sue for injuries and pain and suffering. I am still dealing with a lot of lower back and neck pain as a result of the accident.

Re: Car Accident
Massachusetts has a 3 year statute of limitations on lawsuits for motor vehicle accidents.
However, until you are finished receiving medical care related to the incident, there is no way to determine what an appropriate amount of compensation should be.
You did not say whether you had an attorney representing you at this time. If you are dealing with the other driver's or even your own insurance company without legal guidance, you take the risk that you will not receive all the compensation for your injuries and damages to which you are entitled.
If I can be of further assistance, please feel free to contact my office.

3 years from date of accident
Re: Car Accident
Massachusetts has a three(3)year statute of limitations i.e. suit must be commenced within three (3) years of the date of the accident. However you should not be dealing with the other parties, attornies or insurance company, or even your own insurance company for that matter except through an attorney who can prevent your jeopardizing your claim. If I can be of further assistance feel free to contact me.

Re: Car Accident
YOu have three years from date of accidnet. I the meantime, dont sign ant documents related to accident. Insuraqnce companies sometimes offer to settle for what appears to be a "fair" ofer. Generally it's not.
