Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Car accident

Hello, I was a passenger in a car accident, i am suing her Insurance. I just got status on my case from my lawyer, she said that the demand was sent out 2 weeks ago from today(3/12/08) to the Insurance company, about how much longer is the whole process? I am out of work now from the accident and really could use the money. Thank You.

That all depends. The insurance company usually has thirty days to respond, but they may request additional time. Also, if a settlement cannot be reached, a lawsuit may be filed. Essentially, the process will take anywhere from four more weeks, to possibly a year and 1/2. This is all I can provide with the information you gave.
