Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

My dog got loose and ran after the mail man. He ran to an enclosed porch and was not hurt. I asked if he was ok and he said yes. He was not touched by the dog. Now the next day he claims he hurt his back and can no longer work. Can he come after me and my family?

Most likely he will seek workmans comp from his employer, but if he does file something against you, then you should contact your homeowners insurance company immediately. This is covered by your insurance company who will pay for all of your defenses in this matter. I know it sounds really bad that you may be named in a suit but your insurance company will handle all of this for you. Plus, if he makes a claim for workmans comp he may be barred against filing against you.
