If the person driving the van was not a fellow employee, he likely has a claim against that person and that person's employer. Your friend of course has a claim for Worker's Compensation benefits, and should talk to a lawyer sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, WC only pays for medical expenses and a portion of lost earnings.

IF the driver who hit him was not a co-employee, your friend also has a claim against that driver, and probably also against Enterprise, for a more complete recovery, including "pain & suffering" damages. He needs to talk to an experienced lawyer to sort all that out for him.
