What a horrible injury. I hope you are managing OK. You almost certainly have a claim against the entity that operated the train (was it the MBTA, Amtrack?), though every case is very fact-specific. Also, cases like this often have specific time deadlines for giving written notice before you can start a lawsuit, so it is important to talk to an experienced lawyer who concentrates in personal injury cases without delay.

Good Luck.

I am really sorry to hear that... You may well have a claim. Since the target may be a public entity, you may need to give notice of your claim much sooner than the ordinary case or important rights can be lost. Feel free to contact me directly at your convenience to discuss this, free of charge and obligation. I hope you are feeling better and doing okay.
