Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
an old injury
11 years ago i got injured at work and it has been bothering me more and more over the years. i was demo-ing a building and the spring to a commercial garage door broke from the wall and came at me,taking a junk of bone, tendons, ligaments and flesh. went to a hospital in danvers ma. and had plastic surgery on my forearm. after care was done at the plastic surgeons office in peabody,ma. i filed an accident report but never recieved a copy of it as i requested because i believe the company paid the medical bills directly so as to avoid insurance fee increases. although a couple years later the companies insurance company did send me paperwork to fill out so they could pay off medicalbills. the letter from the insurance company implied that if i did not fill out and sign the form that they would not pay the medical bill and that i would be responsible for them. so the insurance company did acknowledge my injury.i never sought out a lawyer and have never sued anyone in my life and do not wish to. my question is,can i see a doctor about my arm without worrying about the bill. i do not presently have med. insurance but would like to have my arm checked by a doctor.

Re: an old injury
You should call the employer or the employer's insurance company to ask. If you are still on worker's comp you should be covered. If that case is closed, you are probably out of luck on further medical bills A worker's comp attorney should be able to advise you.
