Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Misdiagnosis

I was seen by a rheumatologist for severe joint and muscle pain, and she sent me home with exercise eventhough some lab test may have showed mixed connective tissue disease. Ten months later, I was diagnosed with MCD by a second rheumatolgist, and feel that the first one cause almost one year of unrelentless pain and suffering including kidney dysfuntion due to overuse of ibuprofen. Do I have a case?

Re: Misdiagnosis

There is a possibility you have a case. Before any intelligent assessment could be made you would need to get your complete medical records and then the records would have to be reviewed by a specialist who is knowledgeable about the standard of care. There also needs to be an assessment about how badly damaged your kidney is, and what its state was before all this and if the damage was due to ibuprofen or something else. If the joint disorder is diagnosed 10 months earlier, does this stop you from taking ibuprofen? The bottom line is it is expensive to have these cases reviewed and even more expensive if it turns out you have a case. Good luck. Regards, JBS
