Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
salon mistake
I was getting my hair highlighted in a well known salon and the hairdresser cut my eye with a piece of foil. I went to the ER by ambulance and I have a abrasion to my cornia. Its like a papercut on the eye. I am in a lot of pain and have to wear a eye patch for 4-5 days and then follow up with an eye doctor. can i do anything about this?

Re: salon mistake
Hi -
From the information you provided, it appears there may be a claim against the establishment for negligence. I would happy to speak with you about your case should you wish to talk this one out. Be sure to stay on top of your medical treatment.

Re: salon mistake
You should follow your doctors advice and get the best medical care possible. Also retain an attorney to bring a negligence action against the salon and the operator and do not try to settle with them yourself.
Re: salon mistake
You may have a remedy if it can be proven that the foil cut was a result of negligent conduct on the part of the stylist/salon employee. The way you would go about starting the process to obtain compensation would be to hire an attorney. Regards, John Stewart.
Re: salon mistake
You can make a verbal or written demand on the Salon to compensate you for the harm done.
If you are not satisfied or the Salon ignores you, you can send them a 93A letter of demand, certified with return receipt;
You can complaint to the licensing board of the Salon and/or the hairdresser;
Finally you can file a law suit.
