Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts
slip and fall
I recently slipped on a clear piece of packaging material in a major store. While I fell to floor I hit my forehead on bottom metal bar of shopping carriage; resulting in major gash to forehead (eight stitches to close wound)and severe swelling and discoloration of face (two black eyes.) I also hurt my back in the fall and have difficulty walking without pain in left hip (pin & needles to left arm.) Doctors reports are in process and I did have photographs taken of my facial injuries. What legal action should I consider against store and what could I expect in compensation (range) as a result?

Re: slip and fall
You may have a cliam against the store if it can be established that the material you slipped on had been there for a sufficient time for the store to remove it or if the material came to be there as a result of negligent stocking of the shelves. You should consult with an attorney. Attorneys generall take these cases on a contingent basis, taking 1/3 of any recovery plus expenses.
Re: slip and fall
You have a potential personal injury case against the store if you can prove the store was negligent. You could seek to recover lost wages, medical bills, pain and suffering and other potential damages. It is impossible to value the case until you have treated for a while and have obtained the medical records and reports . In order to value the case you need to have a full understanding of the medical damages. You can call me at 401-437-1100
