Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Statute of Limitations

I was injured in an MVA in 1996. I was a passenger in my own vehicle. My case went to arbitration, I was awared a settlement. My insurance company paid their half, the insurance company of the driver (of my vehicle) was supposed to pay the other half. That insurance company claims that the driver was not insured by them. Mass. DMV shows that she WAS insured at the time of the accident. My attorney (at the time) said to take the money that my insurance company was offering and we could get the rest later. Do I still have a right to that money? What do I have to do to get it?

Re: Statute of Limitations

Talk to a lawyer without delay. All claims have time deadlines. I can't give an opinion here on that line in your case.

The other insurer "was supposed to pay" you say. Why do you say that? You need better communication with your lawyer.
