What is my liability if a 'handyman'(not registered as a Home Imporvement Contractor in Comm. of MA) is injured while painting my house ? Written contract is for $1600.

Can the workman sign a legal agreement absolving me of any responsibilty in the event he is injured while painting my house ? Can he give up his right-to-sue in the event of an injury incurred while painting my house ?

Yes and you should require that he provide evidence of his own workers comp insurance as a condition of your contract with him,
