Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

I worked and was a member of this church. I organized a sat. clean up day which I was payed for, and hurt lifting cement lined file cabinets. I filed a workers compensation and won, but a the same time the church not only fought the case they shunned me as a member. I thought I was liked as a member. I was very hurt to be shunned. I guess my question is do I have any legal options to sue the church. As a result of my injury I'am now chasing SSDI, and veteran disability because I'am unable to work.

Typically if you collect workers' compensation you cannot sue your employer. That is the entire point of workers' compensation. I would think it would be more appropriate that you ask this question to your workers' compensation counsel or counsel representing you in your SSDI claim rather than trolling the internet for opinions. Even if you could sue your employer, what would you get. You are already being reimbursed for your wages. That said, there are any number of fine attorneys who would be happy to represent you on an hourly basis to attempt to find some avenue of recovery. Good luck with your claim. Regards, JBS
