My wife and I are facing eviction from our apt. due to a past problem with rent, she is 7mths. pregnant and her name is on the lease. if we end up in court, because we are married, may I advocate for her due to her condition?

Technically, no one except an attorney is permitted to appear for or argue on behalf of another person in court, except in small claims cases. As a practical matter, many judges in summary process (eviction) cases would probably allow you to speak on behalf of your wife if you explained the circumstances (including the fact that you are living in the apartment and her condition) and requested permission as humbly as possible. It is essential, however, that your wife be in court that day. If she is not, she will probably be defaulted, which means that the landlord will win the case automatically.
