Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I had applied for a zoning permit on a piece of land I own in 2004 for electrical service. The land is in a flood plain which is why the zoning permit was needed. Now that we have finally got the poles up and most of the electrical work done the town is telling us that our zoning permit is expired and we have to renew. Is that legal??

Yes, most permits based on variances require periodic renewal.
