Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
Business lease
If in our lease agreement, upon expiration of the current 5-year lease, we have an ''option to extend'' for two(2) 3-year periods. Does the landlord have the ability to deny us the right to extend our lease? What if he wants to sell the building? Can he not allow us to exercise our option and force us out upon the initial expiration date?

Re: Business lease
You should be sure you can prove that you did all you need to do to exercise the option. Then, if things are as you say, any sale would have to take subject to your lease. You should call a lawyer and get some non-bulletin board suggestions because it sounds like your options may be valuable to you and to your landlord.
