Collecting a Judgment

I recently won a jury award of 500,000 in a landlord tenant case in which I was Pro Se. My former landlord has liabilty insurance, and has had it when I was living there. so my question is how can I make the insurance company pay this judgment of $500,000 when the policy is limited to $100,000? I was told I could file a ''Reach and Apply'' complaint, or file a motion under Mass. R. Civ. P. 69, or 71 third party complaint, but would any of this force payment in full?

The liability of the insurance company is limited to the limits of the policy. Sometimes those limits will depend on the nature of the claim or the number of persons injured. Some landlord also carry "umbrella" coverage, which is a separate policy covering liability which exceeds that of the basic liability policy. You need to investigate what insurance coverage and other assets the defendant has.
