Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Condo mismeasured unit.

After 50 years it's been discovered by a unit owner that his unit was originally mis-measured to larger than actual. His lawyer has since begun proceedings to bring suit to each individual unit owner, as to change the original master deed and recoup condo fees. This has potential to cost me in lawyers fees and filing fees in creating a new deed should this succeed. I was not an owner when the units were measured, actually I wasn't even alive... Do I have any recourse or possible claims against the condo association or condo management company in failing to measure this unit properly in the first place?

Thanks.

Re: Condo mismeasured unit.

Usually the measurements are stated as more or less.

To be sure, I would have to examine the relevant documents related to his issue.

If you purchased title insurance (and I hope you did), you should notify them of the dispute immediately. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
