Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

condominium laws

my shower was leaking into the condo unit below my unit. the condo management says it is my responsibility because they are my pipes. the pipes were from the original piping that was put in when the building was built in the 1970's. the pipes are stainless steel which is no longer used to repair. my insuracne company is issuing a check for $500 to the owner of the unit below me to repair his damaged ceiling, however he is telling me that it will cost $558 to repair and that i am also responsible to repair his bathroom walls by paying for it to be repaired. my insurance adjuster sees no problems with the wall, and i think he just expects me to redo his bathroom. what are my options? do i need to seek a lawyer? please fax me a response rather than email if possible. Thanks
