Condominium Rentals
In the state of Massachusetts, can a condominium association prohibit rental of its units in its rules and regulations or its master deed?

As a general principle, a condominium association can put anything in the rules and regulations it wants, and the person who created the condominium can also put anything in the master deed he/she wants. Obviously they can't put in something that is plainly illegal, such as a prohibition against selling to minorities; such provisions would not be enforced by a court. Otherwise, it is simply a matter of contract betwee the unit owner and the association. Best wishes.
