Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
I co-own a house with an ex, and he is now living at the property and refusing to pay anything. He will be moving out soon, but he will have had months of non-payment. Do I have any legal recourse to recoup this money?

You may demand his proportionate share of expenses and charge him with accounting for your share of any income from this property. An owner of real property does not have to pay a co-owner to live in the property, absent a written agreement to the contrary. You remedy would be found in the courts, and never by "self-help".
