Thank you for your question.

You may be confusing two concepts: clear copy, and clear title. Clear title means that your ownership interest in the property is without claims or potential claims by others. To determine this, a title examiner needs to examine your chain of title at the registry of deeds and determine whether your title in the property is "clear".

If you have any other questions, of if you are interesting in retaining the services of a title examiner, please do not hesitate to contact my office.

If it is registered land you merely need a copy of your Certificate of title which can be obtained from the Land Court side of your County Registry of Deeds .

If it is unregistered land you need to have a title examiner run the title for your attorney who can then issue an opinion on the title. Good Luck!
