Re: Drunk driving liability of spouse
Tenancy by the entirety protects a home from debts or liabilities of a single spouse. Moreover, if one of you has filed a homestead exemption then the property is protected for up to $500,000.00 of equity. There are some exceptions.
It has nothing to do with drunk driving. Moreover, if you knowing let someone drive drunk you may have liability. Also if you are owner or co-owner of a vehicle you may be liable as well. I suggest if you have someone with a drinking and driving problem in your home, you do something about it.
