Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

eviction warning

What are my rights if I feel I'm being falsly terminated from a rooming house in which I'm a tenent at will. You see, I made complaints about being harrassed by my neighbor. He in turn is turning the tables by saying I'm the one who's causing trouble. I feel I'm the one in the hot seat for reporting him. The landlord is threating to evict us both. I'll find out tomoro what my fate is. I feel I should be able to complain to the landlord about anything since I'm the one paying the rent.

Re: eviction warning

Only a court can evict you, and only after the landlord has followed proper eviction procedures.

If you are being evicted because you reported a dangerous or unlawful condition existing on the property, there may be certain laws which protect you.

Re: eviction warning

You should retain an attorney if you believe you are being wrongfully evicted especially if it is for reporting a breach of your quiet enjoyment of the premises to the landlord. Good Luck!
