How do I take my name off the family property?

My siblings and I were gifted a parcel of land, now I want to take my name off the deed, how do I do this? There are four of us.

Re: How do I take my name off the family property?

You would need to have a deed drafted conveying your interest to your siblings. You would sign the deed in the prescence of a notary public. The deed would then be recorded at the Registry of Deeds in the county where the land is located. One note of caution, you should be sure you want to transfer your interest because once the deed is recorded you have transferred your ownership rights in the property and you will not be able to get them back if you change your mind at a later date. You should consult with a Real Estate lawyer to draft the deed to ensure the deed is properly drafted and the property description is correctly listed.
