Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Flooding

Hi- I recently purchased a home on 10/31-- The property is a single family home on about 1/2 acre. What I immediatley liked about this property was the large backyard. After moving in, and having a large rainfall-- our entire backyard is completley flooded! We spoke with the neighbors who inform us that this happens almost every time it rains- this was not disclosed in our purchase and sales aggreement? What are our rights?

Re: Flooding

It depends on what you asked.

If there was flooding, a through inspection should have revealed this.

Re: Flooding

Retain an attorney to review with you all the documents and events leading up to the sale to determine whether there may have been misrepresentation made that might support a cause of action. Good luck!
