Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

foreclosure

The bank foreclosed on my home in January 2007. We have attempted to purchase the house back 5 times, and in each time they said no right at the end. Are they violating any Massachusetts laws? We are still living in the house.

Re: foreclosure

Whetehr they are violating any laws depends on what offers to purchase you have made and whetehr you are a qualified buyer. With a foreclosure, there may be issues regarding your ability to obtain a loan. Additionally, there may be issues as to the value of the offer to purchase. If the offer(s) to purchase are/were less than the value of the mortgage that was foreclosed, the bank would be disinclined to sell to you at that amount. More facts regarding each Offer and Deal are needed to evaluate whetehr any laws or banking regulations have been potentially breached.

No, but then you have not provided enough information. Did you make an bone fide offer, was there a P&S etc.
