Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

A friend of mine who lives in MA with her EX and his mother, she was staying there to save up money to get a place for her and the kids. The mom flipped out and started screaming and the cops were called by the neighbors. My friend was told to leave and she did but how can she get all her stuff and the kids stuff out of the house legally.

She can make a demand, ask the assistance of the police, and if there is no response, she can file an application for a criminal complaint for larceny or a civil action.
