Using my home as colateral for a family member to buy a business

My home is in my name. Could my wife get a loan against it without my approval?

Unless your wife has title to the property and you sign a Mortgage, she can't get a loan against it.

Your wife might seek to assert her dower rights if you get a divorce but absent that, she should not be able to get borrow money against the house without your consent.
