Re: Homeowners Problem
Does the other person agree to join in the sale of the property with you? Perhaps the other owner would agree (in writing of course) that you are to be reimbursed for any expenses you incur in getting the house ready to sell.
Please do not hesitate to contact my office if you (and perhaps your co-owner) would like to schedule a meeting to discuss options.
Re: Homeowners Problem
In the event that your co-owner will not agree to contribute to the renovations, you could enter into an agreement to reimburse any such costs to the party making them (you) out of the sale price before any profits are divided. If the other party will do nothing, you may need to begin legal action to force the sale and establish a priority in payment for any costs associated with the sale. Lowell is a difficult market right now and houses generally have to appeal to prospective buyers.
