Kitchen range

Is there a law that requires a kitchen stove/range to

be provided with the sale of a new/resale house?

If so in what MGL reference can it be found.

Re: Kitchen range

There is no law requiring a seller to include a stove/range in the sale. You would need to review the purchase and sale agreement to determine which, if any, applicances are included in the sale. It is up to the parties to negotiate which items are included and which are not included.

In the landlord/tenant situation, the State Sanitiary Code requires a landlord to provide a stove/oven unless a written agreement is made with the tenant requiring the tenant to provide it.
