Land

It is possible that my brother-in-law has helped himself to some of our vancant land adjacent to his property. What happens?

If he keeps exclusive and open control for 20 years he can claim it by adverse possession.

I would suggest you might want to deal with this now before it becomes an even bigger issue.

You cannot deal in possibilities; you must deal with facts. If he did, and you want him out, then you need to act.

You must reclaim the land by whatever means necessary before he obtains title by 20 years of open adverse possession. Retain an attorney if necessary. GOOD LUCK!
