can a land lord make a slanderous remark

i recieved a letter in the mail stating thai i am selling drugs i replied to the manager that i am not and that if i were her i get proof of those allegations three times i was called to her office for those allegations the last time i recieved a letter agian and that she had proof this time im tired of her slanderous harassment what can i do to stop her she also hired security people to take pictures and made me sign a letter such as if i smoke,and how i buy my clothes or get my food whay can i do

She MADE YOU sign a letter? Whoa! Why would you

sign something like that? True or not, you should have consulted an attorney at that point. My first question would have been: what are you getting in exchange for signing this letter?

Next, an attorney will apprise the landlord of the laws she is violating and her exposure. She appears to have met the requirements necessary to charge her in court with defamation (with special damages) and invasion of privacy. She ought at least to be warned of what can happen if she doesn't mend her ways.

Call an attorney. You seem to have a case. Call me or write e-mail directly to me with more details if you like. I hope you still have the letter. Don't talk to anyone else about this until you've spoken to an attorney, not even to friends.
