Many real estate agents are also associated with mortgage companies and mortgage brokers and therefore ask the question of your employer as part of the mortgage qualification process.

However, unless you have authorized the employer, by signing a form with a mortgage broker, or authorized the employer to disclose your earnings, the employer should not give that kind of information to anyone.

However, if you are not comfortable with your real estate broker acting in this capacity, sinply go to a different mortgage broker or lender.
