Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

we live in an association, what are their legal boundaries

We bought a house in 1995, and found out afterwards, probably the next year, that there is an association here, we were not aware of that fact when we rented to buy this house or when we purchased this house from the home owner or the realtor. We are now receiving bills from the association and today one of the ''association members'' stopped by when I wasn't home with a letter asking us to please send them our dues, now instead of putting them in our mail box, they are hand delivering them. What I want to know is if they have any legal rights or boundaries they should be staying within and what rights I have? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The answer to your question lies in the title to your property. I suggest you contact the lawyer who certified the title to you when you bought the house. The other alternative is to obtain a title search at this time.
