Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I live in a condo duplex unit in Massachusetts. The owner of the neighboring unit and I were both given a copy of the condo document when we purchased our respective condos from the previous owners. The condo document requires each unit owner to deposit a fixed condo fee into a joint bank account on a monthly basis, in order to cover common expenses. These expenses have gone up over the years. So my neighbor and I are interested in raising the condo fees and amending the condo document accordingly. Could you please advice me on how to amend the condo document? Is there a simple way to do this without hiring an attorney?

I am sure the condo document allows for the owners to raise the condo fees by a vote of the owners. You and your neighbor have a meeting, state you are both there and consent to an increase in the condo dues to $X per month starting on ____ date.

Both of you sign it and set up a book that holds the minutes of the Condo Association Minutes.

If the Condo Trust does not allow you to raise the Condo fees any where then you should contact an attorney to fix it once so you never have to amend it again.
