Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Live in mass and there are 2 old rotten out trees on my property that my neighbors wants me to take them down... Am I legally bound to take the tress down since they are near his house and the are dead?

If you know that the trees are rotten then you have a duty to use reasonable care to prevent the trees from falling and causing injury to people or property. This probably means that you have to take the trees down.
