Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts
Can I live in a 9 room house that I own and still legally classify it as a 9 room rooming house?

The building will need to comply with the building and fire codes and be licensed by the municipality. You can be an occupant and the registered on site officer.

There is a Massachusetts (state -wide) law dealing with rooming houses, in addition to which you have to look at your city/town's (Marshfield?) regulations and probably want to review the property file at the Building Inspector's office. This should point you in the right direction. For additional assistance you may call my office: 781-593-7379.
